The training will start at 12 noon on June 25 and finish at noon on Saturday. The fee covers the cost of the training only and can be paid through the donation button on this website.

Lodging and meals are the responsibility of the attendee. Rustic camping is available for free at the site of the workshop. Campers have access to a compost toilet and bucket showers. The exact location will be given after registration. It is a 10 acre private property that is just outside of the Petoskey city limits, but feels as if it’s in the countryside.

If the participants all agree, we can arrange the lunchtime meal together. Either by sharing the costs or a potluck style meal, or a combination of both.

If you are interested in planting a syntropic system in a temperate climate region, but don’t know how to get started, come join us for this comprehensive 4 day/ 3 night training. We will cover the principles and practices needed to plant a system, as well as some basic design and management skills. An attendee should expect to return home with enough experience to start planting a system on their own property.

The attendee will have access to pdf documents to remind them of the topics covered during this training. I strive to make it easy to understand the foundational principles of syntropic agriculture. It is my goal that more and more people can plant regenerative systems and learn to manage the autonomously.

This training is a charity event. All profits will go directly to Global Freedom Project to support the project in Haiti. I will be your instructor. My name is Roger Gietzen

Roger Gietzen is a father, doctor and humanitarian worker who first started learning about syntropic agroforestry in 2016 when he hired a consultant to come to Haiti. He could see that this approach could help address the food insecurity, soil erosion and deforestation that is ravaging the country, as well as provide a path for financial security. The journey to bring this method to Haiti and make is simple enough that an average family farmer can grasp it, has taken Roger to Brazil and even to Ernst’s cacao farm. After years of intense study in the tropics, Roger started applying this method in the temperate climate and now looks forward to sharing what he has learned with others.
